Second Prize: 2019 Joy In Singing International Art Song Competition

Ms. Shoremount-Obra and her collaborative pianist Christopher Cooley are pleased to announce that they have won SECOND PRIZE in the prestigious 2019 JOY IN SINGING INTERNATIONAL ART SONG COMPETITION ! The competition took place over the course of 10 days in New York City and included three rounds of intense competition. Each round of the competition included a different program totaling ten minutes, twenty minutes and thirty minutes respectively. Their program included works of Rachmaninoff, Duke, Quilter, Turina, Mendelssohn, and Bachelet. The final round of the competition took place the the Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center on Friday, March 22, 2019. In addition to the $2000 prize, they will be presented by the organization in recital in the near future. Details to be announced.
