2016 Wagner Society of New York Prize Winner
Ms. Shoremount-Obra is pleased to announce that she was the 2016 Winner of the Ursula Springer Memorial Endowment Fund Award from the Wagner Society of New York. This very important win helps to establish her recent movement into more dramatic repertoire. The Society presented her, along with Tenor Cameron Schutza, in recital on January 28th, 2017 in Lincoln Center. The program featured Ms. Shoremount-Obra singing "Dich Teure Halle" from Tannhäuser; three rarely heard Wagner French Songs - Mignonne, Dors mon enfant, and L'Attente; three songs of Rachmaninoff in Russian (In the Silence of the Night, Oh, Never Sing to Me Again, and What Happiness), and duets from Fidelio (O Namenlose Freude) and Norma (In mia man alfin tu sei).
